Terms of service
These terms govern your purchase and use of From Zero to Algorithmic Trading and your use of this store. By buying the handbook or using this site, you agree to them. Please read the section on financial advice carefully, because it matters more than the rest.
What you are buying
You are buying a licence to read and use a digital handbook. You are not buying ownership of it, and you are not buying a service, a signal, a subscription or any form of ongoing advice.
Your licence
Your purchase grants you a personal, non transferable licence to read the handbook, store your own copies of it, and print it for your own use. That licence lasts indefinitely and includes every future revision of this edition at no extra cost.
You may not resell it, share it, upload it to a file sharing service, distribute it in a group or channel, publish extracts of it publicly, or use its contents to produce a competing product. If you would like to use part of it for teaching or in an article, write to us. We are reasonable, and we usually say yes.
This is education, not financial advice
This is the most important clause in these terms.
The handbook is educational material. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy or sell any financial product. We are not a licensed financial services provider, we are not authorised by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority to give financial advice, and we do not give it.
Trading carries substantial risk, including the loss of all the money you put at risk. Past performance, whether real or backtested, does not predict future results. No book, strategy, indicator or software can guarantee a profit, and this handbook is unusually direct about saying so. Any decision you take with your own money is yours alone, and you should consider speaking to a licensed adviser before you take it.
What we promise, and what we do not
We promise that the handbook is what this store says it is, that it will be delivered to you, and that we will fix it if something goes wrong with delivery.
We do not promise that you will make money, that any strategy described will be profitable, that third party software will remain free or available, or that regulations, venues and prices mentioned will stay accurate over time. Markets and tools change. Verify anything critical against the official source before you act on it.
Third party tools and links
The handbook recommends software, exchanges, brokers and websites that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for them, we earn nothing from recommending them, and their inclusion is not an endorsement of their current terms, security or availability. Your dealings with them are between you and them.
Payment and delivery
Prices are shown in South African rand and include any applicable tax. Payment is processed by Shopify. Delivery is digital and immediate. See our refund policy for what happens if something goes wrong.
Intellectual property
The handbook, its diagrams, its text and this store's design remain our property and are protected by copyright. The licence above is the only right you receive.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any trading losses, lost profits, or indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the handbook. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the handbook. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything that may not lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here on the day you buy. Material changes affecting existing customers will be emailed.
